How to find your Google Place ID
Four steps, about a minute. You don't need to own the listing, and Google's finder tool is free to use.
Open Google's Place ID Finder
Click the button below. It opens a Google page with a map and a search box on it. You may need to scroll down a little to reach the map.
Open Place ID Finder ↗Search your business
Click the search box and type your business name and city. A list of suggestions appears. Click your business in the list.
Tip: if there are several similar names, check the address to pick the right branch.
Copy the Place ID
A small box opens on the map with your business name and a line that says Place ID, followed by a long code. It usually starts with ChIJ. Select the whole code and copy it (Ctrl+C on Windows, Cmd+C on Mac, or press and hold on your phone).
Paste it here and generate
Come back to this page, paste the code into the box at the top and click Generate review link. Your link and QR code show up right away.
Go to the generator ↑What is a Google review link?
A Google review link is an ordinary web address that sends a customer straight to the "Write a review" box for your business. They don't have to search for your name, scroll through your listing or hunt for the right button. They tap the link, pick a star rating, write a few lines and post.
The link is built from your Place ID. Our Google reviews link generator takes that ID and adds it to Google's own review address, so what you get is the same kind of link Google uses. We don't store your Place ID or anything else you type. It all happens in your browser.
Why a direct link gets you more reviews
Most happy customers don't skip a review because they're against it. They skip it because it feels like a chore. If someone has to search for your business, open the listing and then find the button, a lot of them quit halfway. One tap to the review box removes most of that friction.
| Regular Google Maps link | Google review link | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the customer lands | Your business listing | The review box for your business |
| What they have to do | Find the "Write a review" button on their own | Pick a rating and start typing |
| Good for QR codes | Not really, people get lost on the page | Yes, one scan goes to the review box |
| Google account needed | Yes | Yes |
Top places to use your Google review link
A link is only useful if customers actually see it. These are the spots that work best for most local businesses:
- A WhatsApp or SMS message right after the job. A plumber who finishes a repair can send it from the driveway. A dentist's front desk can send it before the patient gets home.
- Your email signature. Add one line, something like "Happy with our work? Leave us a review", and link it.
- Invoices and receipts. Print the QR code at the bottom, or paste the link into your invoice email.
- The counter, the table or the shop window. A small sign with the QR code and a short "Scan to review us on Google" line is enough.
- Your website. A "Review us on Google" button on the thank-you page or footer catches people while they're still thinking about you.
- Follow-up emails. If you already send a thank-you or a "how did we do" email, drop the link in there.
Top tips for getting more Google reviews
- Ask soon. The best time is right after a good experience, while it's still fresh. A week later, most people have moved on.
- Ask in person first. A quick "Would you mind leaving us a review? I'll send you the link" works far better than a link that arrives out of nowhere.
- Keep the message short. Two sentences and the link. Our templates above are a good starting point.
- Send it to everyone. Not just the customers you think will say nice things. Google doesn't allow selective asking, and honest mixed reviews tend to look more trustworthy anyway.
- Don't offer anything in return. No discounts, no freebies. It breaks Google's rules and can get reviews removed.
- Reply to your reviews. Thank people, and answer complaints calmly. Future customers read the replies as well.
- Test before you print. Open the link, scan the QR code with your phone, and make sure it shows the right business.
Do Google reviews help you rank?
They're one part of it. Google says local results depend on relevance, distance and prominence, and prominence includes how many reviews you have and what your average rating is. Reviews also add fresh text to your listing, often with the exact words customers use, like the service they bought or the area they live in.
Reviews alone won't carry a weak profile, though. Keep your categories, opening hours, photos and services up to date, and answer the questions people ask. If you'd like a hand with that, our local SEO team does this for businesses every day.

Google review link questions, answered
Short answers to what people ask us most.
How do I create a Google review link?
Find your Google Place ID, paste it into the box at the top of this page and click Generate. You get a direct link to your review form and a QR code. Once you have the Place ID, the whole thing takes under a minute.
Is this Google reviews link generator really free?
Yes. There's no sign-up, no trial period and no limit on how many links you can make. We built it as a free tool for small businesses.
What is a Google Place ID and how do I find it?
A Place ID is a code Google gives every place on Maps. It usually starts with ChIJ. Open Google's Place ID Finder, search for your business, click it, and copy the ID shown. The step-by-step guide on this page shows exactly where to look.
How do I make a QR code for Google reviews?
Generate your review link first, then download the QR code as a PNG or SVG. Scan it with your own phone before you print anything, just to confirm it opens the right business.
Do I need to own the business to create a review link?
No. A review link is public, and you don't need access to the Google Business Profile. You do need the Place ID of the correct listing, so check the address before you copy it.
Can I get a link that already has 5 stars selected?
No. Customers choose their own rating, and a link can't pick it for them. It only opens the review box for your business.
Do customers need a Google account to leave a review?
Yes, they need to be signed in to a Google account, though it doesn't have to be a Gmail address. Most people on an Android phone are already signed in, which is one reason a direct link works so well.
Will my review link ever stop working?
Place IDs usually stay the same, even if you rename the business or move. Google can change one now and then, so open your link every few months. If it breaks, find the Place ID again and generate a new link.
Can I give customers a discount for leaving a review?
No. Google's policies don't allow offering money, gifts or discounts in exchange for reviews. Also don't send the link only to customers you think are happy, because Google calls that review gating and doesn't allow it either.
Do I need a separate link for each location?
Yes. Every branch has its own Place ID, so make one link and one QR code per location. Using one branch's link for another sends reviews to the wrong place.
